Attendance Policy 

ü  You must be in attendance for 2/3rd or 66% of the class in order to be counted as present.

ü  You must attend at least 2 hours of class in order to be counted as present.

ü  If you are absent, please email or call me the same or next day.

ü  Quizzes and in class assignments can not be made up; if you are not in class you do not earn credit.

ü  You are responsible for the material in class whether you are there or not.

In class policy

You can not make up the quizzes or writing assignment that are completed in class if you are absent.

You are responsible for the matierial in class and the assignments due whether you are in class or not.

 

Late Policy

The homework assigned for this class will often be done in class, as much as possible, and as such students must be present in order to complete and submit the homework. Since various circumstances arise, the late policy for this class is as follows:

  • You must be in attendance in order for your homework to be on time. If you know ahead of time you will be absent, contact me and you may make arrangements to submit your homework before the class day it is due.
  • The late policy is 10 points per day; maximum 5 days. After 5 days homework will not be accepted. For example, if homework is due on Friday, the latest it will be accepted is Wednesday of the next week. If it is not handed to me in class, it must be emailed to ensure the time and date received is accurate.
  • I do not offer extra credit

COURSE DESCRIPTION This course offers an integrative approach to global, environmental issues. Topics of studyinclude an analysis of environmental challenges confronting contemporary, global societyagainst a political, geographical, cultural and economical backdrop. Students are instructed onhow to apply a systematic problem solving approach in reviewing the issues, related policies andrecommendations for confronting these challenges.
